There is NO corruption in Sarawak

It is all in a day's work for CM Abdul Taib Mahmud's family as they plunder Sarawak's natural resources under the patronage of PM Najib as this video from Global Witness shows.

For over thirty years, Sarawak has been governed by Chief Minister Abdul Taib Mahmud, who controls all land classification, forestry and plantation licenses in the state. Under his tenure, Sarawak has experienced some of the most intense rates of logging seen anywhere in the world. The state now has less than five per cent of its forests left in a pristine condition, unaffected by logging or plantations and continues to export more tropical logs than South America and Africa combined.

"You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours!" - BFF!

The film reveals for the first time the instruments used by the ruling Taib family and its lawyers to skirt Malaysia’s laws and taxes. It shows how they cream off huge profits at the expense of indigenous people, and hide their dirty money in Singapore.

And oh, yes... there is NO corruption in Singapore too!

Najib says Taib is leaving, Taib says no way

Despite all the promises made by Najib, Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud repeated his intention tonight to step down “only in a few years’ time” amidst the call by the opposition for a quicker end to the Sarawak chief minister’s 30-year-rule.

Vote For Me - I Need Your Money

Sarawak's Taib Mahmud (who says I'm retiring?) plays the game he and BN knows so well.

Are Sarawakians foolish enough to vote for him again?

Former Finance Minister Tun Daim Zainuddin:-

Pakatan Rakyat poses no challenge to Taib’s hold on power but the state Barisan Nasional is likely to see several more seats fall to the opposition. Some politicians in the state were unhappy when said that Barisan would win with “a few more seats going to the opposition”.

Sarawak's election will expose BN's highest corrupted politician

Desperate Sarawak's CM seeks to be elected again

Abdul Taib Mahmud's claim of not seeking re-election has gone down as one of the most unbelievable statement of the year by BN. As he and Najib seeks to pull wool in front of Sarawakians' eyes the people have announced that they won't be fooled so easily. Everyone knows that he and Najib are out to fool everyone in Sarawak.

Najib has all the evidence to prosecute Taib

Sarawak Report founder perplexed as to why no action is taken against Taib Mahmud

A British journalist who runs an website and online radio critical of Sarawak Chief Minister Taib Abdul Mahmud says that her task is not to oust the long-time leader.

“I do not see it as my job to bring down Taib. That is for the Sarawakian people to decide,” said Clare Rewcastle Brown (sister-in-law of former prime minister Gordon Brown) in an email interview with Malaysiakini.

The former BBC journalist, who began her career in 1983, also adds that her work relies only on material that can be proven and she would readily hand over evidence to the Malaysian authorities.

“Most of it, as we have demonstrated, is a matter of public record. This is why it has been difficult to disprove. We have heard nothing back from Taib Mahmud, despite several invitations to reply to our accusations.

“We would be only too delighted to hand over all this evidence to the Malaysian police and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission should they show the slightest interest. Most of it they could have accessed themselves anyway without much trouble,” she said.

The downfall of Taib Mahmud has begun

Attempts to dislodge Sarawak's longest serving Chief Minister has begun

A group calling itself Friends of Pakatan Rakyat will be hitting the Bolsover Street in London on 28 February (this Monday) at 9 am in the hope of starting a revolution against Taib Mahmud, the chief minister of Sarawak.

On the 28th February concerned Malaysians and friends would like to highlight Taib's personal responsibility for the chopping down of most of Sarawak's rainforests at the expense of the indigenous communities. We would also like to protest against the international community's inaction with regard to Taib's blatant corruption and his placement of assets worth millions of dollars in Western countries.

The agenda is very straight-forward: help PR unseat BN in Sarawak. And the way to do it is to get very personal and by telling the people of Sarawak that they can stop being cowards and start being as brave as the people of Egypt. It is no secret that the Oppostion will be using Taib Mahmud's long tenure as CM of the state as a weapon to anger Sarawak's people. Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim, although embattled in his own state and party, set the ball rolling by telling Sarawakians to bring down their Chief Minister.

Sarawak CM Abdul Taib to be accused of corruption

KUCHING, April 13 (Bernama)
Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud has threatened to take legal action over newsreports linking him to RM32 million in logging kickbacks in Japan.

His press secretary, Amin Sahmat, in a one-paragraph statement faxed to the media here today, said Taib had instructed his solicitors to initiate legal action to clear his name in reference to reports in the Japanese and local newspapers alleging that the chief minister was involved in corrupt practices.

Yesterday Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi was quoted as saying that he was leaving it to the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) to investigate a report of RM32 million in logging kickbacks implicating Taib.

He said he had not received any report on the matter so far and no proper report had been lodged by any party for an investigation to be carried out.

Abdullah was asked to comment on a newsreport in Japan Times which claimed that Japanese shipping companies paid RM32 million to a Hong Kong agent allegedly linked to Abdul Taib.

Meanwhile, 20 Sarawak Parti Keadilan Rakyat members led by its liaison chairman, Wan Zainal Abidin Wan Senusi, lodged reports with the ACA and the police today over the allegations.

He told Bernama that the action was in response to Abdullah's comment yesterday that no report had been lodged by any party for an investigation to be carried out.
