Even with the election coming Penang is left to rot

Is Gerakan so sure of losing Penang to DAP that they are not even bothered about Penang anymore? Just driving along Penang Road and Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah (not to mention the perennially potholed Jalan Jelutong) one will be tempted to think that the potholed and untarred roads are signs that Gerakan is all ready to relinquish a much neglected Penang to DAP by next week. Take a further drive to Batu Ferringhi and you will see why the rubbish strewn along the roads is turning the few tourists away from ever coming back to Penang again.

Even PM Abdullah Badawi is not coming to campaign in Penang island knowing how bad the situation in Penang is and having to face the continued bickering among BN component parties. BN ceramahs in Penang are attended by only a handful of BN supporters while ceramahs by the Opposition are packed full and large crowds had to be turned away.

Meanwhile, Dr Koh has given up trying to name his successor for the Chief Ministership as he knows whoever he names will probably be rejected outright by Penangites and will probably lose his nominated seat. This is the problem when you do not groom your successor from the very beginning. He cannot possibly name any one now as his possible successor for fear of losing him in the coming election and ending up looking like a fool.

Look, I don't have anything to buy votes

Dr Teng upset that Mr Teng is most probably UMNO's next puppet

Dr Koh praying for more divine help

Anwar: BN to use dirty postal votes strategy in event of an imminent defeat

Donald Lim: Malaysia is still better than Burma! (How lame can BN get!)

Latest: BN wanted to pay RM1 billion to Motorola to prevent them from pulling-out from Penang
